A Hair Cut Can Make All the Difference

Here I am with my Aveda cut (oh yes and the lipgloss I am applying is made by 100% Pure...reviews to come!)

I hope everyone had a very safe and happy Labor Day! I know I truly enjoyed having an extra day to relax and unwind. This weekend, I went back to the Aveda Institute to get another haircut. Another one, you say? I know I just had one about a month ago, but the style I have (an asymmetrical bob) requires a lot of upkeep and trims. Unfortunately, the stylist I had previously had graduated (as it is a beauty school) but I was so lucky to get another master student (one who is almost finished with the program) and she did a beautiful job! What might make some people worry about going to beauty schools is that you will probably get a different stylist every time…but the beauty of this school is that most of the students really know what they’re doing and are closely monitored by teachers. In fact, before I left, the teacher inspected my cut and determined that it needed a bit more shaping…..and then my cut was perfect!

If you are lucky enough to live near an Aveda Institute, I highly recommend going there for all your beauty needs. It’s such an affordable way to pamper yourself without breaking your budget. I paid $18 for my cut and got a blow dry too! They also offer manicures, pedicures, and other spa services at very good rates. In fact, if you live in the Fort Lauderdale area, they are having an open house on September 17th from 6-8 pm where if you book appointments you can receive 20% off! Sounds good, huh, especially in these tough economic times. Please click below for a short video about the Aveda Institute.

Yes, Baking Soda is fabulous. I have been using a baking soda deodorant for a few years now that works wonderfully. I have to admitt that with two preschoolers, I don’t have time to mix up my own personal care products. Thats is why I used organic products from a reputable company. Wow, you have beautiful, glossy hair and that cut is gorgeous! I WISH I had hair like that. I’ve contended with fine, frizzy hair that almost never looks shiny, regardless of what I do (poor genetics I guess!). I have serious shine envy and an seriously starting to think seriously about wigs!
