Products Good Enough to Eat!
Posted by: | CommentsDid you ever think about creating your own homemade beauty products? Natural beauty recipes contain such wholesome ingredients as milk, fruit, vegetables, and other healthy foods. With what is called “DIY” (do it yourself) skin care, you don’t need to worry about toxic, harmful ingredients because you are the creator and know exactly what you are putting into your skin.
I’ve made my own facial scrub with oatmeal, milk, and honey and my skin felt so soft and smooth. Sometimes you don’t even need to go to the store and can use the stuff you already have in your fridge right now! These at home concoctions can moisturize, cleanse, soften and even revitalize skin. There are some teriffic ebooks available as well for skin rejuvenating recipes that can actually make you look younger! Not only is it fun to do, but it’s tasty too! Give it a try sometime. I would love to know your results!
Can’t Eat it? Don’t Use it!
Posted by: | CommentsI recently came across a blog that discussed how it’s important to wash your hands after applying lotions, creams or any type of beauty product. Hand washing was needed, it said, especially before you eat because when you do eat, you may be eating the product! While this is a good point, it made me think. If you don’t want to eat the product you just rubbed into your face or arm, you shouldn’t be putting it on your body either! The skin absorbs everything you put onto it, so what is the difference if you accidentally ingest some of your face cream? People seem to think there’s a difference between what you eat and what you put on your skin. There is none at all. That’s why my motto is, if I can’t eat it, I don’t put it on my skin.
What’s in a shower?

Each morning many of us unconsciously start our day with a morning ritual…For most of us this begins by taking a shower. Have you ever thought about the many hazardous toxins you are subjecting your skin to? Probably not!
While in the shower, not only are you breathing in the chlorine that is probably in your water, you’re also absorbing it into your skin. Chlorine is a chemical that can be irritating to the skin and hair. This can be one of the reasons why your skin feels dry when you come out of the shower. Why is a poison like chlorine added to the water? Because it kills bacteria and pathogens, yet at the same time it’s harsh on the delicate skin and hair.
Most of us use shower gel to cleanse our skin. All of us have our favorite scent. But have we ever thought about exactly what makes it smell so good or gives it that foaming effect? Take a look at the ingredient list on the bottle. Do you see any words you don’t recognize? Can you even pronounce them? A good rule of thumb is you can’t read it or pronounce it, don’t put in on your skin!
