I am a Filipina with glossy black hair. I usually use St. Thomas bean (or "gugo" in Tagalog) for my hair which is a native Philippine plant. It makes my black hair as dark and beautiful as a black Bombay cat.

I wonder how Caitlin Reynolds do her recipe of apricot cold cream.

Sheila,

Even more awesome tips! I should have you do a guest blog sometime! I use aloe vera also, in fact, I am in the process of concocting another homemade deodorant recipe which uses aloe vera juice. I also use coconut oil on my hair (just did the other day!) But the trick to it is finding out the right amount so your hair won't look completely greasy. In fact, this is one of the tips I give in my ebook, "Beautify Naturally." I hope you've had a chance to download it! :-) And you are absolutely right...beauty starts from the inside out...make sure you're putting healthy foods into your body and the results will show on the outside! And thank you again for the kind words. I appreciate it!

Also, I forgot to mention that ALOE VERA!!! Is a staple beauty treatment to many many people... I have heard about it for years now, that they use it as a face moisturizer to keep wrinkles away, and to give them amazingly soft skin. Also, put it ON your hair, and in your scalp to promote long, thick, silky hair. Another trick is to use Coconut oil on your hair as well, and on your scalp to promote hair growth. There have been numerous people that said it helped them go from "losing their hair" to starting to grow back in...and no grays either. Also, Emu Oil was known for being amazing for the scalp and hair health as well.

Cayenne pepper mixed in w/ some of those and put on your scalp really gets the scalp going w/ healthier hair...you see, all of these things have a lot of nourishing vitamins, and minerals your body craves, and especially your hair. That's why if you have anything going on "wrong" inside your body, your hair is usually the 1st to start looking: gray, weak, brittle, thinning...because its not a necessety to your body...

:) Thanks Robin!

Thanks Robin!!! I love blogs like this as much as you love my comments!! Great site! :) And yes, simplicity can in fact equal beauty....i feel it greatly helps you look more youthful and attractive. So many times men I know say their wives or girlfriends look 100% better WITHOUT their makeup on, rather than WITH it on...just take care of your skin, naturally of course, and there will be no need to SLATHER on the foundation and powder all day and night...no need for that stuff if you take care of the underlying skin...

Thanks Robin!! :) Talk to you soon.

Ok, wanna know MY beauty routine...its super simple...get close now, here it is...shhh...don't tell anyone!

I take a shower, I wash my hair with an all natural shampoo and conditioner, my current fave is the aubrey organics...yumm..i let my hair NATURALLY dry, and i don't use any hair products, usually a ponytail does the trick. I wash with a bar of "african black soap" which smells so amazing i can even describe it to you...you gotta get it and try it yourself, its silky smooth, and makes your skin soft!

Let's see, then i put on a little red lipstick and nothing else...i have dark hair, so i guess that helps make me look like i have eye makeup on but i dont...

And rinse and repeat each day...VOILA!! That's it...try to keep it natural. I have less pimples now than I ever did...i used to break out as a teen, because i was smothering my face w/ CRAP foundation that clogged my poor facial pores! I put my face through the ringer back then, but today, simple rules...everything feels so "healthy" on my skin...i know I'm doing right by my body, and feel great knowing I'm not poisoning myself. Oh, and reddish nail polish too, forgot that one!

Thanks for the post!

Hey Caitlin,
I love this tip! How often do you do this? Do you just mash up the apricot and apply or do you add anything else to the mix?

I have always used this method my mom taught me whereas i use Apricot as scrubber. It's very natural and effective. My mom used to make apricot cold cream for me before, but now I just buy them from a local market.. :)
